India: Workers unpaid for five weeks and struggling to afford food amid management absence, incl. co. response

In May 2023, it was reported that workers at the Mahabir Tea Estate in Tripura has not been paid for five weeks, and feared starvation due to a management gap at the estate. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre asked Tetley, a buyer of tea from the estate according to its publicly disclosed supplier list, to respond. Full response included below.
