Adidas response to allegations on working conditions at Jerash Holdings

...

Based on information shared by our licensee, we understand that working hours in excess of 60 hours per week were previously raised as a non-compliance, which the facility attributed to delays in receiving materials inputs during the Red Sea shipping disruptions in 2024.

The issue of high production targets is a common challenge for the textile industry in Jordan, and our licensee is working closely with the factory to implement corrective actions, including optimizing production planning and reallocating resources.

To further strengthen channels by which workers can raise grievances and complaints, our licensee monitors the operational effectiveness of established channels, including Welfare Officers, an Open Door Policy, PICC Committees, hotline numbers, and suggestion boxes. Additionally, our licensee is working with the factory to implement a mobile application for a workers grievance platform to further enhance worker confidence in reporting issues.

The other allegations raised in the article were not validated or corroborated by the licensee’s earlier audits or by Better Work Jordan’s July 2024 audit, and these warrant further investigation. Our licensee is following-up with the factory.

We will continue to engage with our licensee in investigating and addressing any confirmed workplace violations at Jerash Holdings and to support remediation where necessary.
