The AIIB undertook a thorough assessment to understand the background and sequence of events raised on the cited publications.  As part of this process, we consulted with the project’s executing agency, the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). Based on information provided by ITDC, the reported evictions involved informal vendors operating in the Tanjung Aan beach area.

This location is entirely outside the scope of the AIIB-financed MUTIP, which is focused solely on core public infrastructure such as roads, drainage, utility ducts, and community facilities.
