ソース

On April 9, 2020, Mr. Ali Idrissa was summoned to the offices of the judicial police in Niamey, following a complaint filed against him by the former Chief of the Defense Staff, who accused him of defamation in an alleged corruption scandal involving the Ministry of Defense. Mr. Ali Idrissa was placed in police custody until April 14, 2020. This period exceeds the legal period of police custody which, in Niger, is 48 hours renewable once, and goes against the decision of the Minister of Justice of March 20, 2020 [1] to limit, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the use of police custody and detention "in situations of extreme urgency" and "with regard to criminal offenses, terrorism and crimes of disturbance of public order", which does not concern Mr. Ali Idrissa. Ali Idrissa, national coordinator of the Network of organizations for transparency and budget analysis (ROTAB) and of Publish what you pay - Niger (PWYP), which works for transparency in the extractives sector.
