… The company had previously caused pollution …, at which time the Ministry of Environment took legal action, including an interim fine of 30 million riel…

This is the second case of pollution caused by Cangxinlong Food (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.

The Ministry of Environment has taken urgent measures in response to the non-compliance in accordance with the Environmental and Natural Resources Code as follows:

1- The company must temporarily stop discharging liquid waste from the company’s premises into public water sources …

2- Being fined for non-compliance …

3- The company must clean up the environment at the polluted site to make it better again.

4- The company must compensate for damages caused by environmental and public health impacts according to actual calculations by experts and in accordance with the Environmental and Natural Resources Code.

5- The company must restore the polluted Oor Leel and Stung Kuy systems to a better condition.

6- In the event that the company does not comply with the above decision, the Ministry of Environment will take further legal action.

[BHRRC note: According to the Cambodian MOC business registration website, the company is owned by Chinese businessmen.]
