About 500 Fort Jackson clothing factory employees downed tools this week in protest against a myriad of alleged factory floor abuses by management. Alleged abuses by International Clothing Manufacturer (ICM) factory management range from unpaid maternity and sick leave, unpaid overtime, long working hours and failure by management to recognise their union, the South African Clothing and Textile Workers' Union (Sactwu).
