Doctors Join Suit Against Minister [South Africa]

About 250 doctors, many of whom are employed by the state, have joined the Treatment Action Campaign in its lawsuit against Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang and her provincial health MECs. The campaign, doctors and other health professionals want the court to force the health ministry to provide Nevirapine widely in the public health service to reduce the risk of HIV-positive pregnant women from passing the virus on to their babies.
