PT Megah Surya Pertiwi did not respond

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre to invited PT Megah Surya Pertiwi, through PT Trigemah Bangun Persada, to respond to a report citing the latter as one with the largest nickel smelters in Indonesia. The report alleges that nickel mining resulted to “disappearing food reserves and water sources, deforestation, the diminishing biodiversity, the widespread pollution smearing water, air, and sea, as well as continuing social conflicts”. (The Resource Centre notes that PT Megah Surya Pertiwi is a subsidiary of PT Trigemah Bangun Persada). The company did not respond.
