Response from EBRD to Defending Rights & Realising Just Economies report

[An additional document sent by EBRD is available here.]

... [T]he Bank continues to maintain an interest in the environmental and social outcomes of this project, and remains engaged on related matters, including through the ongoing review being undertaken by the Independent Project Accountability Mechanism (IPAM). While we no longer have the capacity to monitor the project in the same way, we will engage with the Indorama Corporation and continue our efforts to ensure that corporate approaches to E&S matters continuously evolve.

... The Bank has strongly reiterated to the Company that it does not tolerate acts of retaliation by EBRD clients or project counterparties against those who raise concerns regarding EBRD-financed projects.

... The Bank will support the ongoing IPAM review and encourages civil society organisations to monitor implementation of the Company’s public commitments.
