A court in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky ordered JSC RUSAL Ural to pay a worker 5 million rubles in compensation for moral damages. The man lost 80% of his working capacity due to an occupational disease, according to the press service of the Sverdlovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.

The injured worker had been employed at the enterprise as an anode worker. As part of his duties, he participated in aluminium production at the second series of electrolysis cells of the Electrolysis Production Directorate.

In court, the man stated that prolonged exposure to harmful factors at the workplace caused him constant pain and that he has been undergoing painful medical examinations for more than two years, resulting in physical and emotional suffering. His occupational disease was confirmed by medical conclusions.
