Geologist dies at Yubileyny underground mine in Bashkortostan, 12 April 2024

A 37-year-old geologist working for LLC Bashkirskaya Med died at the Yubileyny underground mine in Bashkortostan. The State Labor Inspectorate, together with Rostekhnadzor in the Republic of Bashkortostan, has launched an investigation into the incident.

On the night of April 10, an electrician discovered the geologist lying in one of the mine workings of the Yubileyny underground mine. It is presumed that the man sustained fatal injuries as a result of being struck by a load-haul-dump machine.

The press service of the agency reported that the investigation will determine the circumstances and causes of the incident.
