The U.N. Economic Commission for Europe's Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters, also known as the Aarhus Convention, enters into force today...The convention is specifically aimed at allowing the public greater access to environmental information held by authorities, providing an opportunity for people to voice their views and concerns to leaders on environmental issues and providing the public with access to review procedures when their rights to information and participation have been violated.
