"Webinar: Agriculture workers in times of uncertainty ; lessons from Jordan and Tunisia"

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre organised, on 15th December 2020, a webinar to discuss challenges and abuses workers in the agriculture, in particular female workers, continue to face. The webinar brought together national experts from Jordan and Tunisia to discuss the legal frameworks that govern the agriculture business in both Jordan and Tunisia as well as the measures taken by governments and businesses to protect the workers during the pandemic.

The speakers together with the attendees attempted to offer answers to the following questions:

The webinar will seek to provide answers to the following questions:

  • What is the everyday abuse female agriculture workers face in Tunisia and Jordan?
  • How can resilient agricultural sectors be built in Tunisia and Jordan to ensure the prevalence of decent work?
  • Where do we stand in terms of advocacy for decent work in the agriculture sector ?
