Cambodia has not relented on cracking down on human or sex trafficking, illegal detention, torture, illegal online gambling and other related crimes, General Khieu Sopheak, Ministry of Interior spokesman said ...

The Cambodian authorities have not slowed down their efforts to fight trafficking, detention, online gambling and other crimes, Gen Sopheak said.

“We accept all complaints from victims and their relatives who have requested the assistance of the Cambodian authorities to intervene and save victims from human and sex trafficking and other crimes.

“We have provided hotline numbers, the internet and social media to make it easier for victims to seek emergency assistance. We usually receive between two or three complaints a day from victims,” he said.

The Cambodian authorities are pleased to cooperate with all foreign authorities and development partners to crack down on these illegal crimes and the authorities have never pardoned perpetrators who involved in human trafficking cases, he said…

Gen Sopheak claimed that the information reported by the BBC News in the past did not reflect the real situation because the Cambodian authorities are trying to eliminate human trafficking cases as much as possible.

The 50-minute BBC News’s documentary video posted … shows many victims are still detained in several illegal gambling places in Preah Sihanouk province.

According to BBC report posted on YouTube called ‘Pig butchering romance scam,’ takes its name from the victims, which scammers call ‘pigs’ – those they can ‘fatten’ before ‘butchering.’ Scammers target individuals on dating sites and social media, posing as attractive and successful professionals…
