Cambodia: Levi's response to workers’ wage losses and improper payment of severance in their supply chain factories during the COVID-19 pandemic

"... We fully acknowledge the hardships that the Covid-19 pandemic has put on apparel workers, their families, and communities. As such, we took full responsibility – and paid in full – for all the finished, ready-to-ship and in-progress orders that were outstanding at the onset of the pandemic. We have not cancelled orders and have not asked for any discounts on payments through the pandemic. Our sourcing leads are staying in close conversation with our suppliers to ensure that they are responding to the ever-changing environment in compliance with the legal requirements and keeping the health and safety of their workers as a top priority. We have also encouraged our suppliers to consult unions and workers on decisions pertaining to health and safety.

As per our Terms of Engagement, we mandate all suppliers to follow legal requirements on worker payments. All our suppliers in Cambodia have paid first and second quarter seniority payments and will continue to pay in accordance with the schedule set by the Cambodian government..."
