[DOC] New European Company Reporting Law must be step towards Global Norm

See all tags
A new draft EU law published today (Tuesday 16 April) to require companies to disclose information on their social and environmental impacts, is overdue and can put British and European business in the mainstream of global developments, according to the Euro MP who has championed the new law...British Labour Euro MP Richard Howitt said: "This is a huge step towards promoting sustainable and accountable business but is long overdue. Mandatory sustainability reporting has been introduced in India and China, and through Stock Exchange requirements in Brazil, South Africa and the United States...The work now falls to the Member States and the Parliament to enact this legislation. Investors, shareholders, consumers, families and future generations are demanding this law to protect our environment and our society."
