Georgian workers seek justice from Chinese employers

Four men were injured between February and May of 2020 while working for the China Road and Bridge Corporation on the Rikoti mountain pass road project. Next man we talked to worked on this project and asked not to be identified. As he said the four were fired six months ago without being given a reason...

Vitali Giorgadze, chairman of the Georgian Railway Trade Union, says employees for Chinese companies work under extremely hard conditions...“They treat them like slaves. A person does not know when to sleep. Every company has this kind of housing unit. It’s illegal. All but 100 or 200 workers live in these conditions.”
