Hyundai's response to allegations on Raja Ampat nickel mining

… Based on our understanding, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation have confirmed that we do not currently source nickel used in EV batteries from the Raja Ampat region, nor do they have any plans to do so in the future.

As part of our commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainable supply chain management, we have implemented the Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy that, last updated in 2025, covers key battery minerals, including but not limited to cobalt, lithium, nickel and graphite, in addition to traditional conflict minerals. Through this policy, we conduct due diligence and ongoing risk assessments to identify and address potential environmental and human rights risks within our supply chains.

We remain committed to strengthening supply chain due diligence to strive to prevent battery minerals associated with regions facing environmental or human rights concerns from being used in our electric vehicles …
