Kuwait: News coverage of workers protesting unpaid wages prompts resolution

300 Bangladeshi workers staged a peaceful sit-in to protest unpaid wages and extortion in exchange for residency visas. The workers returned to work following a visit from Embassy staff and indications that "their demands were considered".

The acting spokesperson for the workers said, "Thank you Kuwait Times for the report (that was published earlier this week). If not for you, we would not have got any positive response from anyone. We are all ready to report to work again, with conditions."
