Philippines: Greenpeace to file petition with human rights commission on responsibility of "carbon majors" for climate impacts on human rights

Greenpeace Southeast Asia is marking today by announcing the upcoming filing of a petition with the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines. They are encouraging Filipinos to sign on to the petition, and non-Filipinos to show their support. People can get involved by signing up here.

The petition asks the Commission to investigate the responsibility of the investor-owned Carbon Majors  - some of the world's largest fossil fuel producers - for human rights violations or threatened human rights violations resulting from climate change and ocean acidification impacts.
