s.Oliver's response re. Young Clothing

...Regarding the recent report on garment workers protesting over owed severance pay from Young Clothing garment factory in Myanmar, we contacted our Asian office to verify the accusations. We thereby can confirm that s.Oliver has worked with Young Clothing in the first half of 2020. During the internal investigation with our supplier in Myanmar we received the information that the factory has offered a compensation package to all its workers, including 2 weeks production stoppage salaries, payout for balanced annual leaves and severance payment. Up until December 18th, still some workers have not collected their compensation. That is why the factory’s management office is still open to provide the layoff compensation for these workers as per legal requirements. According to our supplier, the local labor bureau was involved in the closing of the factory and sectoral unions have not further contacted Young Clothing.
