Suez Steel Co. S.A.E (SSC) has suffered from a work stoppage on 18/7/2013 which was due to a despicable violent attack undertaken by a number of workers against their fellow workers forcing them, by violent means, to stop the work in the core manufacturing edifices. Such stoppage immediately led to a complete stoppage of the whole of SSC plant. Under Egyptian Law, the use of violence for the purpose of stopping or impeding the work of a company entails a criminal liability. Despite such criminal acts, management of SSC called upon a meeting with the workers and started discussions with them…On 22/7/2013 SSC was surprised by a sudden attack undertaken by the same group of workers on the core edifices of the plant, such group and went on intimidating the workers and again used force and violence to shut down the plant thus depriving the workers to launch the talks with the management.
