Representative Christopher H. Smith, a New Jersey Republican...was outraged over the Yahoo incident [in which Yahoo! provided details to Chinese Govt. that led to imprisonment of journalist Shi Tao]. He has pledged to bring executives of the company to Capitol Hill to explain themselves...Representative Dan Burton, a Republican from Indiana...was also concerned. "When people are being put under surveillance and lack the rights to privacy and free thought," Mr. Burton said..."U.S. companies, the U.S. Congress and the U.S. government must act appropriately and must know when and where to draw the line." [also refers to Google, Cisco, Microsoft]
