To date, EACOP Project has recorded a limited number of security related grievances. The grievances were managed in accordance with EACOP grievance management procedure with corrective actions implemented. All cases have been closed. EACOP has established grievance management systems in Uganda and Tanzania consistent with the requirements of IFC Performance Standard 1. This extensive monitoring to date has not identified any violations of human rights.

The situation regarding EACOP project should not be amalgamated with Kingfisher's situation. As the Kingfisher operator, CNOOC oversees operations, contracts, and relations with external stakeholders (State, communities, civil society), aligned with regulations and recommendations of international standards. As a business partner and in line with TotalEnergies Code of Conduct in this regard, TEPU engages with CNOOC on various matters including by sharing its experience in the field of social impact management and human rights, including, for example, investigations led in cooperation with the operator.
