Принятые меры: Some of the affected migrant workers filed a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation who ordered the employer to pay around Dh 14,000 (US$4,000). Despite the judgment the employer failed to pay the over due wages. A social media appeal led the Indian consulate to intervene; they stated they were working to arrange repatriation for at least one of the plaintiffs.

[Rajesh Puthenveettil has been stranded] without electricity, food and basic necessities for around six months now... "The company that hired me sold the supermarket chain to another businessman... the salaries of many employees of all the three branches of the supermarket stopped coming, including me. The new owner simply said he could not afford to give us our pending salaries"...[Some employees] filed a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation... his employer was asked to pay around Dh14,000... [but] has not yet cleared Rajesh's dues and is not responding despite the judgement... [Praveen Kumar, consulate worker said] " We arranged a meeting with Rajesh and documented his case... we are arranging his air ticket."
