BP...and lawyers suing the company over the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill were given two extra days to submit a proposed settlement agreement to the federal judge overseeing the litigation. Attorneys for both sides were due to file the accord yesterday with U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier in New Orleans for preliminary approval.
