USA : NGO files lawsuit in Washington DC against Bumble Bee over deceptive marketing claims regarding its labour practices

On 21 March 2022, the NGO Labor Rights Forum / Global Labor Justice-International filed a lawsuit against Bumble Bee (subsidiary of Fong Chun Formosa (FCF)) in Washington, D.C., USA.

The lawsuit alleges that despite Bumble Bee advertising "best in class" working conditions, the company's seafood supply chains--especially its tuna supply chain--are rife with forced labour, unfair labour practices, human trafficking, and unsafe workplace conditions.

Bumble Bee Seafood said it “adamantly disagrees” with the allegations.

The original complaint can be found here (archival link).
