Colombia: Mining company Cerrejón challenged over alleged human rights abuses

Coal mining company Cerrejón [part of Anglo American. BHP Billiton & Glencore] takes steps to improve its human rights record by reaching resettlement agreements with families displaced by its operations and addressing community representatives' grievances regarding the company's environmental and human rights impact. However, Colombian community representatives travelled to the UK to speak out against alleged human rights abuses at BHP Billiton AGM including relocations and access to water issues
