[DOC] Unpaid salaries: Adaptation by business to economic crisis or absence of political will? [Ukraine]

On 1 December 2009,these amounted to 1,740,000,000 Ukrainian hryvnas (UAH). The issue is pertinent to different economic sectors, including the coal mining industry; machinery and equipment manufacturing; electrical, electronic and optical equipment production; construction, and other sectors… The total number of employees who did not receive their salaries for the last three months has increased sixfold and constituted 700,000 people, as of 1 December 2009.
