Environmentalists to appeal nuclear verdict in Lithuania

...[T]he Lithuanian environmental organisation Atgaja and the Latvian Green Movement along with Greenpeace announced…they will appeal…verdict of the Vilnius district administrative court that approves the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for new nuclear reactors near the town of Visaginas in Lithuania. According to the environmental organisations, the court failed to take into account that an EIA is meant to justify the impacts from a project…The Visaginas EIA did not contain sufficient data on the environmental impacts of nuclear fuel production, nuclear waste or a large accident.
