Explosion in Tkibuli Mine, 31 January 2022

An explosion occurred in the Mindeli mine in Tkibuli...around 23:00. According to reports, 9 persons were injured in the explosion, 1 died.

Authorities say the causes of the incident are being investigated...

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident is being investigated under Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates violation of safety rules during mining, construction or other work.
