On 31 January 2022, the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. to respond to an article by The Third Pole alleging that The Vyasi Hydroelectric Project, set to generate electricity in Uttarakhand in northern India, is proceeding without environmental impact assessments or consultations. The article reported that the project will "affect 334 families and six villages."
