"Trepça" has not paid its employees the trust for several years now, 29 April 2025

The employees say that they have not received any explanation from the company for this. And in "Trepça" they admitted the non-payment of contributions to the trust, saying that the reason for this is the difficult financial situation in which the company is located.

For at least two years, Trepca workers have been saying that the company's management has not implemented its legal obligation to pay their pension contributions.

Under current legislation, all registered employees in Kosovo pay 10 percent pension contributions from their monthly salary - 5 percent of which is covered by the employer of the employee...

The president of the Independent Union of Trepça Miners, Ibrahim Januzi, warned of taking the matter to court, announcing that the miners have already hired lawyers to seek their money through legal channels...

The Trepça company did not provide details on the amount of liabilities to employees, but said that the non-payment of contributions was the cause of the poor financial situation.

"We inform you that 'Trepça Sh.A.' has made the regular declaration of obligations to the Trust to the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK), but due to the difficult financial situation it has been in for several years, it has not been able to fulfill these obligations," the response from the "Trepça" company states...
