Since foreign investment began taking off in Burma a few years ago, many rights watchers and activists have been rightly concerned that the opportunities to make money in this new market would blind companies to the importance of responsible investing there…Business & Human Rights Resource Centre approached 108 foreign companies doing business in Burma (Myanmar) to assess their human rights policies and whether or not they’re living up to them for its Myanmar Foreign Investment Tracking Project…They found a wide range of responses, from companies that are regularly doing due diligence to others that were “evasive” when asked about their policies…
