Palestinian NGO Al-Haq expresses concerns about Honda's involvement in Israeli settlements; Honda did not respond

The Palestinian NGO Al-Haq has approached Honda to express concern regarding its franchise agreement with Mayer Cars and Trucks, Honda's official distributor in Israel. Al-Haq point out that Mayer operates a garage in a settlement near Jerusalem, and is also involved in manufacturing armoured buses that are used to transport settlers to and from Israeli settlements. Honda did not respond, either to Al-Haq or to the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre. Honda recently canceled a motorcycling event it had sponsored that had been initially planned to take place in a settlement, after concerns were raised by NGOs.

All Israeli settlement activity in occupied Palestine is a violation of international law, and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is currently creating a database of companies that are profiting from this illegal activity.
