Philippines: Food manufacturer Sumifru faces allegations of union-busting, red-tagging & assassination attempt against unionist; company did not respond

Various reports alleges union-busting, red-tagging, and assassination attempt of a union leader involving Sumifru Philippines Corp. (Sumifru). The allegations purportedly spring from the demand of the workers to be recognized as regular employees to enable them to collectively bargain with the corporation.

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Sumifru to respond to the allegations in the reports. The company did not respond.
