Ural Department of Rostechnadzor investigated group accident at JSC Sevuralboksitruda, 26 May 2021

The Urals Directorate of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostechnadzor) conducted an investigation into a group accident on 17 January 2021 at SUBR JSC at the Kalyinskaya mine between 21 January and 20 April 2021. A series of seismic events occurred in Block 5, which resulted in the release of rock mass along the panel drift. Two mine workers of the cleaning category were injured by pieces of rock mass.
Based on the results of the investigation, an Investigation Report on the circumstances and causes of the serious accident was drawn up on 20 April 2021.
It has been established that SUBR JSC committed violations of industrial safety requirements at a hazardous production facility, which resulted in an immediate threat to the lives of employees....
Based on the results of the investigation, a protocol on administrative offence under part 3 of article 9.1 of the CAO RF was drawn up for the legal entity SUBR JSC. Protocols on administrative offences under part 1 of article 9.1 of the CAO RF were drawn up in respect of officials.
