Work at section of Korbalikhinsky mine in Altai suspended due to violations, 6 January 2025

Operations at one section of the Korbalikhinsky mine in the Zmeinogorsky district were suspended for 90 days, the press service of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Altai Territory reported. The reason was non-compliance with safety requirements.

The violations were identified during an inspection conducted by Rostekhnadzor.

“During the inspection, Rostekhnadzor identified violations of mandatory industrial safety rules and regulations. The legal entity was found guilty of committing an administrative offence under Part 1 of Article 9.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (‘Violation of industrial safety requirements at hazardous production facilities’),” the statement said.

For one and a half months, mining in underground workings at the 420-metre level of the site has been prohibited. Barrier tapes have already been installed in the mine, and access is allowed only for work aimed at eliminating the identified violations.

The regional department of the Federal Bailiff Service emphasised that the company operating the mine had been warned about administrative liability for failure to comply with the orders. A bailiff has also been appointed to monitor the elimination of the violations.
