Twitter did not respond to allegations of stepping back on the protection for transgender users

On 9 May 2023, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Twitter to respond to the allegations that the digital platform removed a policy that prohibited the targeted deadnaming or misgendering of transgender people from its content moderation guidelines regarding hateful content, stepping back on the protection for transgender users and making it easier to harass them on the social media platform. Twitter did not respond.
