UK: Britain faces ongoing strikes as workers engage in industrial action amid living crisis

Since 2022, both unionised and non-unionised workers across Britain participated in strikes over summer amid the living cost crisis, as workers' wages failed to keep pace with inflation, which hit a 40-year high in June 2022 at 9.4% annually, resulting in a decline in real wages. Workers engaging in industrial action, including rail workers, postal workers, dock workers, warehouse workers, workers in communication services and food manufacturing workers reported poor working conditions, below-inflation pay offers, and threats of redundancy.
