Honduran social activist, Hernán Rafael Silva Martínez, denounced that he is the victim of a fierce persecution and that they want to assassinate him for having documents that evidence corruption in the Armed Forces of his country. In statements to the media, the human rights defender said that while he was working in a private company he found payments for more than 500,000 lempiras (more than $20,735) that are linked to illicit acts of the armed forces. He added that the investigation also allowed him to obtain the names of two people involved, who are part of the high command, he said. He specified that from that moment on, the military have used different persecution strategies to get hold of the documentation, such as using hooded people to enter his house, which he has denounced. He assured that he has already submitted the documentation to national and international bodies that will take action on the matter.
