An investigation by The Insider showed that Russia imports thousands of foreign-made rifles and ammunition despite international sanctions.

The authors of the investigation found that foreign companies continue supplies to Russia via its neighbours, namely, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
