Thailand: A delay plan to keep Mao Moh power plant running causes environmental pollution and health concerns; incl. co. non-response

As Thai government moves with a plan to keep coal fired units in Mae Moh power plant running until 2031, there have been concerns raised by CSOs and communities over CO2 pollution causing respiratory and illnesses among community members in addition to compensations and relocation of affected communities.

In October 2025, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited EGAT to respond to the allegations, but it did not.
