In May 2015, around fifteen Greenpeace France activists blocked the main entrance to InVivo, the leading French cooperative group bringing together more than 200 cooperatives and promoting pesticide-based products. Thierry Blandinières and Philippe Mangin, directors of InVivo, filed a complaint about defamation against Greenpeace France. In October 2019, the Tribunal of Paris rejected the complaint explaining Greenpeace France was reacting in good faith and that its statements participated in a debate of general interests. The directors of the pesticides company filed an appeal. In particular, they each claimed the sum of 50,000 euros in damages for non-pecuniary damage. On December 9, 2020, the Paris Court of Appeal confirmed the decision.
