A crane collapse killed 17 people, including engineers and workers during construction of the Samruddhi Expressway. A complaint was registered against the sub-contractors of Navayuga Engineering Company Limited and VSL Private Limited, the agencies hired to construct Package 16 of Samruddhi Expressway.

BHRRC invited both companies to respond, they did not.
