Japan: Government to mandate heatstroke prevention measures for businesses, with penalties for negligence

The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry has decided to require businesses to take steps to prevent heatstroke among their employees. Businesses will face penalties for negligence.
The ministry plans to make such efforts compulsory from June, through a revision of a ministerial ordinance of the Industrial Safety and Health Law.
