Myanmar: Workers report several rights abuses at garment factory incl. denial of leave if workers fall ill; incl. co. responses

In October 2023, it was reported that workers at Handa (Yangon) Myanmar faced a series of violations, including poor ventilation in the factory, denial of leave incl. if workers feel unwell, wage cuts, unpaid overtime if workers don't meet targets and limited access to medicine at the clinic.

In January 2024, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Mizuno, Lidl, Kiabi, Next and Active Brands to respond. In September 2024, Burtle, New Wave Group, Honeys and United Athle also provided a response to a request for comment from the Resource Centre. Full responses below.
