Belgium's Dress Confect Slammed over Labour Rights Abuses in Sri Lanka

Belgian clothing company Dress Confect has been told to put an end to labour rights abuses at its Sri Lankan subsidiary, GP Garments. The company’s actions include boasting of the existence of a 100,000$ war chest to fight the union, bringing in the special forces branch of the police to intimidate workers, repeatedly breaking its promises, and finally firing the entire workforce in retaliation for their protest action.
