All of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s grand plans to transform India could be undone by a single, impressively titled law: the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013…Abolishing the law would do more than any single measure to unleash a flood of much-needed industrial and infrastructure projects…Tweaking the law at the margins may rid it of its worst provisions.
