[…] PT Mayawana Persada also threatens Dayak indigenous’ livelihoods in Kualan Hilir and North Kayong. PT Mayawana Persada’s heavy equipment keeps intruding on indigenous farms and plantations, replacing them with eucalyptus and other monoculture crops.

Following the concerns, 18 organisations demand PEFC to:

• Withdraw certification(s) for PT Mayawana Persada and PT Industrial Forest Plantation
• Exclude any companies that cleared forests area since 2010 from certification’s candidate and halt any partial certification for any companies that being alleged for deforestation
• Adopted an exclusion approach for certifications for any companies that violate PEFC’s standard
• Halt the endorsement for Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) until it change its standards to reflect sustainability and anti deforestation
